Judging from the above, what you require is a protective case of some kind that is going to protect your phone from the destructive abuse that it is going to be getting, whether it be chucked around the place by your 2 year old or plastered in dust when you are building that new project in your house.
This is where the Otterbox Defender iPhone 4 case comes in to play. Defender being the operative word. Otterbox have been designing cases and covers for the iPhone for quite a while now and certainly know lots about building a case for your hard earned smart phone.
Ok, so whats included in the box?, Well the case comes in a beautifully packaged box and oozes from the start. The case consists of:
Touch screen
A felt liner inside the plastic case to prevent scratches
TActile silicone exterior for better
A completely re-designed holster
The iPhone firstly, gets positioned in a plastic casing which has a felt liner to eliminate any damage to the iPhone 4. This is a superb start as you can observe that Otterbox has provided some thought right from the beginning and Otterbox has obviously used their experience to prevent damage to the iPhone 4.
Once the plastic casing has been installed (just 3 retention clips) the silcone layer is then put over the polycarbonate casing. This gives the case a very grippy feel as well as extra defence. This is very important as you want the phone to feel nice when handling the phone. No razor sharp edges.
The screen protector is brilliant. No oil-slick appearance or bubbles!. There is easy access to the ports and headphone sockets by some silicone flaps which also prevents dust and dirt from entering the iPhone.
The whole of the Defender series cases supplied with a holster.The holster has been modified from the last series and doubles up as a video stand for the iPhone 4. This is done by rotating the ratcheted belt clip to the best position. The holster also protects your iPhone as the iPhone
is placed face down to further defend the iPhone’s screen.
The only drawback of the Otterbox Defender Iphone 4 case is the fact that it is quite chunky, but this is the only downside you have for that extra protection.
Case-mate also has a similar case to the Otterbox Defender series named the Tough case, this has a silicone interior cover with a plastic outer shell, however there is no screen protector bundled.
All in all I really recommend this iPhone 4 case, the case is well made and there have been many reviews, where the iPhone has been thrown out the window, had weights dropped upon it and the iPhone has survived without a scratch!
